Augustana (2/25/06)
Amazing, amazing show tonight at the Underground in Roseville. I went to see Augustana play for the third time since Snow Patrol last May and I got the honor of doing my very first interview with them back in September. I have no idea how it turned out nor do I remember what I asked and what they said. They sounded amazing as usual, but Dan (vocalist/guitarist/pianist) seemed completely out of it, which affected their performance and you can tell by his voice. They would sound so much better in a venue like Empire. They played "Boston" last, which was the song some fans were asking throughout the entire set that they'd play.
Local band called Honey Trees was incredible. She reminded me a lot of Eisley. Her band featured members from different bands like Brighten, who coincidentally will be opening for Eisley on April 23rd at The Library in Sacramento. Beautiful band, beautiful music! I was not disappointed nor was the crowd. I think the biggest surprise of the night was seeing another local band... Affirmative, Cameraman!
Damn, they ARE amazing. Their stage presence is crazy! The lead singer looks like Chris Martin from Coldplay and has moves like Chris Martin and Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw combined. The lead singer's voice is reminiscent of Daryl Palumbo's. They now have CDs selling for $5 and features 3 songs: 1. "Bunnies In Crosshares", 2. "Handsome People Do Handsome Things", 3. "I Am Jacks Empty Bottle of Daniels". They're my new favorite band and now they're your new favorite band.
