Don't "Set Yourself On Fire"

Stars' Set Yourself On Fire (2005)

... because you need to stay alive to hear Stars if you have not yet already. Broken Social Scene is possibly one of the best indie bands around right now. What's amazing is that there are so many members in BSS and they have many solo and side projects. For instance, Leslie Feist is doing her own thing nowadays as Feist and is on the major label, Interscope Records. Jason Collett also has his own solo project with the album Idols of Exile. Emily Haines and James Shaw are part of the band Metric. And Amy Millan and Evan Cranley are with... Stars. And those are just some of the BSS members.

Before it was Seattle and now there's Montreal. It seems so many talented musicians are coming out of Montreal nowadays like Arcade Fire, BSS, and now Stars. Stars have really evolved since their last album, Heart. The keyboard-driven pop sound just keeps getting better and better, which is just lovely to hear. Their sound is amazing and is a bit reminiscent of BSS. The lyrics are smart and interesting and are like conversations, such as in "The Big Fight". "Your Ex-Lover Is Dead" was on one of The O.C. Mixes and is incredible live just like every other Stars song. Other highlights include "Ageless Beauty", "What I'm Trying To Say", and "One More Night".
