Empire; $Priceless
Sacramento, CA
I didn't realize how big She Wants Revenge had gotten until this show. Mellowdrone I've seen before, but this time around they were more boring than last. The reason is because I'm just not a fan of their music, although I do like one or two songs. Their bassist/keyboardist and drummer are the ones who stood out from this band. They ended their set with "Fashionably Uninvited", which is probably the best song from their album. Ima Robot was interesting. It was like 80s Punk. I enjoyed their set, but I have to say it was a little bit weird. The lead singer made me cringe most of the time. I've heard of all of these bands, but I actually didn't really enjoy any of them besides She Wants Revenge.
The last and first time I saw She Wants Revenge was at this year's Coachella, but I could barely see them. I was front row for She Wants Revenge at Empire, luckily, because people tried to mosh. I didn't realize you could mosh to their music, but then again drunk people can mosh even when there is no music. I highly enjoyed their set. They were better than I expected and I think they have great stage presence. They have a really nice tour manager as well, and that's definitely a good thing, but rare (ahem, Snow Patrol).
