ARCTIC MONKEYS/WE ARE SCIENTISTS

The Warfield $Priceless
San Francisco, CA

Amazing show tonight! The music director at KSSU who got the tickets for me was so kind to take me to the show as I asked her last minute, and we left at 5pm for SF. It started out to be stressful as we entered the venue and tried to figure things out, but once we were in and front row in front of the speakers we were pleased with the view of the stage. We waited a long hour before We Are Scientists came on stage to perform at 8:30pm.

I was more looking forward to WAS than Arctic Monkeys, and I have to say my breath was just taken away. They played songs including "Cash Cow", "Lousy Reputation", "It's A Hit", "Inaction", and ended the set with "The Great Escape". Keith was so into the performance as he threw his guitar around. They spoke of Chris' goggles and where to buy them. They could've been MORE funnier especially Keith. I think that was the only disappointment other than not being able to meet these fine fellas.

Arctic Monkeys was great! They were more than what I expected, but it's too bad that it wasn't their usual bassist playing with them this tour. The crowd went crazy for Arctic Monkeys. Their set included the new song "Who The Fuck Are The Arctic Monkeys", and they also previewed an even newer song that we may never hear again in the future. They also played "Fake Tales of San Francisco", which how can they not and they again touched on the fact that it was written after a fan in SF. And they pretty much played every other song off the album like "Riot Van", "Mardy Bum", "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor", and "Scummy Man". Also drunks were everywhere! At the very end of the set, a girl pushed her way through and tried to run up onto the stage, but the security guard pushed her off and she shoved him. The old man ended up underneath the stage. Poor thing.
