From The Sun Online:
Lord of the ring
SORRY, girls, but it’s my sad duty to report that movie heart-throb ORLANDO BLOOM has been snared.
My spies spotted The Lord Of The Rings star and his glamorous actress lover KATE BOSWORTH checking out engagement rings in London’s upmarket New Bond Street on Friday.
There is little doubt he has finally popped the question.
Orlando, heroic elf Legolas in the blockbuster hobbit trilogy, and Kate spent ages in two of the most exclusive shops in the world, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels.
Kate eventually set her heart on a £60,000 diamond sparkler.
My spy told me: “They were picking out engagement rings and she was trying them on.
“They popped into lots of the flash jewellers on New Bond Street. But they were in Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels for the longest period.
They had huge smiles on their faces and were kissing and cuddling. It looks like Kate is about to be Mrs Bloom.” Orlando — a devout Buddhist — and American Kate met three years ago while filming an ad for Gap clothing. But their blossoming careers have put huge stress on the relationship — and they have regularly split up and got back together. Brit Orlando has spent long periods in the Bahamas this year shooting the two sequels to Pirates Of The Caribbean. And Kate, who lives in LA, has been in Sydney, Australia, shooting the movie Superman Returns. She plays Lois Lane. Orlando was snapped hanging out with SIENNA MILLER at a polo event in Windsor over the summer. He has also been romantically linked to Spider-Man actress KIRSTEN DUNST. But Orlando and Kate have been an item again for a few months — and made a rare joint public appearance last week at a special screening of hit movie Annie Hall in London. Superman Returns and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest will be summer blockbusters. But the biggest event of the year looks set to be their wedd

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
It's enough that people are having themed parties like on Laguna Beach, for instance Black and White parties. I know someone who traveled with a group of friends to Laguna Beach just because some of them were obsessed with the show and they wanted to see the high school. It's stupid and shows how people do not have any lives. Do people want their kids to be famous? Or do they want money because money equals power in this corrupted society? People can be so greedy nowadays.
From Oh No They Didn't!:
Laguna Beach residents plan to disrupt shooting, boycott show-supporting businesses
After two seasons of Laguna Beach, some residents of the community have had enough. As production on the third season begins, “[t]hey plan to boycott businesses that allow filming, petition the council to condemn the show and encourage individuals to disrupt shooting,” according to the Telegraph.
Among other things, families are reportedly moving to Laguna or renting houses in order to ensure that their kids can attend the high school and maybe appear on TV, and some teenagers are reportedly “undergoing plastic surgery to increase their chances of being cast.”
Resident Howard Hills says, “There is a groundswell of community opposition. Initially people were star struck — parents and kids. But now they are beginning to realise this is not what Laguna Beach is about. Our town and our kids are better than that.”
“That,” according to Derek Ostensen, “is exploitative, sensationalist and all about titillation” from “sexy, dizzy blondes and lascivious young men.” Ostensen, who the paper says “tries to step in front of the cameras whenever he sees crews filming,” maintains that this is not representative of the community. “Laguna has historically stood for noble principles such as art, education, the environment and community togetherness. The only principle MTV stands for is exploiting youth for profit,” he said.

Oh So Adorable
They are sooo cute together! I didn't even realize they were together at all. I heart Eisley. I regret not paying 25 bucks to see Switchfoot now.
From United Press International:
New Found Glory and Eisley to merge
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has gotten engaged to Eisley lead singer Sherri Dupree, it was reported Tuesday.
Gilbert told MTV News he popped the question at Friday's premiere of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
"I did it in the lobby of the theater in front of the wardrobe," Gilbert said via e-mail. "All the employees and people around were clapping. It was super funny. I was really nervous and could barely get the words out, which made the situation even funnier."
The couple met earlier this year during New Found Glory's Back to Basics Tour, MTV said.
Gilbert said talk of a wedding date will wait until the couple finish tours to back up albums their bands have coming out next year.

Let's Get Fucked Up & Die!... Maybe Not
Dates for the Motion City Soundtrack headlining tour will be announced Monday morning on the band's website. A pre-sale will start at 5:00PM the same day. Tour starts in mid-February and runs through early April.
HELLO! GOODBYE!
I'm really happy for them. I had the chance to see them back in July for the first time and their live performance was really fun. It was getting late and I was planning on heading home after two songs during Hellogoodbye's set, but I decided to stick around because I couldn't get enough of their energy. The crowd was so into the music and everyone was dancing. It was the most fun I had at a show. They're just a really fun band.
Panic! at the Disco on Carson Daly in January. Love them live.

Apple Turnovers
Gwyneth Paltrow has once again taken a shot at the United States while talking about the resolve of the British people after the terrorist attack in London on July, 7. Paltrow, who lives in London, says she was amazed by the locals' courage in the face of adversity after the coordinated attacks on the London subways.
"I find the English amazing how they got over 7/7. There were no multiple memorials with people sobbing as they would have been in America. There, they are constantly scaring people but at the same time, people think nothing of going to see a therapist."Alright, listen you condescending bitch, first of all, you're an idiot. Second of all, you're an idiot. Thirdly, you're wrong. There were plenty of memorials for the 52 people murdered on 7/7. Not as many as there were in America for the 2986 people murdered on 9/11, but there was a pretty good reason why. Can you guess what it is? I just gave you a hint! And while you're furrowing your giant brow in a clumsy effort to think, maybe you can also recall your beloved England when Princess Diana was killed. Those pictures in your head are called "memories" and they're going to reveal images of multiple memorials with people sobbing. Maybe it'll also dawn on you that you named your damn kid Apple. Sure, 'Apple' is shorter than 'Please Yank My Shorts Over My Head And Beat Me Till I Pee On Myself', but it was pretty much the same thing.
I completely agree with this article. I mean sure some of the time the negative things people say about America I agree with, but when it's something like this then it is stupid. I love Coldplay and I think their baby is adorable, but Gwyneth Paltrow needs to shut up about Americans' reaction towards 9/11 versus England's reaction towards 7/7. It's a stupid reason. There were so many lives lost in 9/11. Two giant buildings freaking collapsed and killed so many lives. I'm not saying that 7/7 was unimportant. Hey, I love London and I would love to live there one day. It was important, but it's the fact that Gwyneth would say such a thing is so hypocritical in a way. At least Johnny Depp apologized for what he said. So Gwyneth is ashamed of being an American? Except I don't even know if she still considers herself American.

China vs. Japan
Memoirs of a Buzz
Saturday December 03, 2005 9:00PM PT
An American writes a novel set in 1930s and '40s Kyoto, based on the accounts of a true-life geisha. The geisha later sues the novelist, but the book tops bestseller lists in the U.S. and even makes an appearance on The Sopranos. A bunch of bigwig Hollywood producers get interested and cast three prominent actresses in the movie version of the tale. But the actresses aren't Japanese; they're ethnically Chinese. I'm glad someone noticed that. Once I heard Zhang Ziyi was in the film, I automatically thought, isn't it obvious that her accent is a Chinese accent and not a Japanese one? Accents matter when differentiating between a Chinese and a Japanese since personally I'm Chinese. Given that things are especially touchy between Japan and China right now, that an American man composed this very womanly and quintessentially Japanese tale, and that Hollywood's never been known to stick much to historical or cultural accuracy anyway, this cross-cultural mix quickly ignites scorn from politicians and, naturally, bloggers. Well I think generally, not talking about Memoirs of a Geisha specifically, that it's good to unite China and Japan because it'll help to ease any conflicts. Sure Hollywood has never really been historically and culturally accurate, but they've never really been accurate anyways in any type of film based on a novel.
Ziyi Zhang
But then, as they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity. In that case, Memoirs of a Geisha, the new film directed by Rob Marshall (of Chicago fame), which stars Ziyi Zhang, Michelle Yeoh, and Gong Li, will be a smashing international hit. I think it looks like a beautiful film. I've never read the book though. From our seat overlooking the Search box, we're already impressed by the buzz. Searches on the film and its lead actresses have soared. Queries for "geisha" and "japanese geisha" have shot off the chart, and "sayuri," the main character and the film's title in its Japanese release, rose dramatically in advance of the movie's Japanese premiere.
Perhaps the Tinseltown treatment of high costs, lavish costumes, and beautiful women will charm audiences in Tokyo and Shanghai as well as Detroit. In the meantime watch for more buzz, more blog posts, and, this being an American venture after all, an extensive line of tie-in face-wash, green tea, and handbags. I like green tea.
